Polonia began in 2001 with the opening of Petronia’s Polish Restaurant in Key West, Florida.
Petronia is the name of the street in which the restaurant was on in the Bahama Village area.
It was started up and is still owned and operated by Marek Andruniow and Rob Plummer.
Marek is from Przemysl, Poland and Rob is from Mentor, Ohio a suburb of Cleveland.
They moved the restaurant to Winter Park in the fall of 2003 and renamed it Polonia Polish Restaurant.
They stayed there until 2005 and gained a huge following that outgrew the small space. They took there
time and after a brief hiatus reopened on January 13, 2007 at their current location in Longwood,
The philosophy of Marek and Rob has always been make everything from scratch using the best
ingredients possible. Marek has always cooked the traditional Polish way, but has always added a
special flair to make even as Scott Joseph once said “the stuffed cabbage seem like a delicacy”.
They offer a wonderful lunch and dinner menu seven days a week. They now serve a weekend breakfast
that is one of Orlando’s best kept secrets.
Bakery and deli items are available for purchase and preorder.
